CICC Scholarship

The Calgary Italian Cultural Centre (CICC) awards scholarships to high school graduates of Italian descent who wish to pursue a post-secondary education and have demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement.

Dear Members,

Do you have a close family member, a relative or know of someone who is has or will be graduating from high school this calendar year? If so, you may wish to share the following information with them.

Applicants must be:

• ➤ of Italian descent;
• ➤ a grade 12 graduate, who resides in the Calgary Census Metropolitan Area which includes Calgary, Foothills MD, Mountain View County, Rocky View County;
• ➤ intending to continue their education at a post-secondary institution and be registered at a post-secondary institution within a year after graduation. Post-secondary institutions include colleges, universities, and technical schools. Recognized private career or vocational institutions may be considered upon scholarship selection committee approval;
• ➤ enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate granting program with a minimum length of one academic year.

Applicants will be selected based on the following factors:

• ➤ Academic standing
• ➤ Extracurricular and community involvement
• ➤ Proof of application at a post-secondary institution
• ➤ Financial need - if applicable

Scholarships valued at $1000.00 are awarded annually and are paid directly to the post-secondary institution the recipient will be attending.

Please note the number of scholarships awarded annually may vary from year to year contingent on the availability of funds. The number of scholarships to be awarded is determined at the Board of Directors meeting in June of each year.

This scholarship is not renewable and previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.
